Us humans tend to be creatures of habit. We stick to routine because it’s safe and predictable, familiar and comfortable, and anything outside of this is usually met with a tab bit of hesitation. But what we’ve now found is that we long for something new, something that changes the way we see not just ourselves, but the world around us—especially during a global pandemic where the option to go somewhere and see it for the first time, has been taken away from us on a global scale.
To experience another culture is to truly live. It allows us to recognise that despite our linguistic differences, geographic location, the religion we do or don’t practice, or how we look physically, that ultimately, we really all are one and the same when it comes to life. We want to enjoy ourselves, to be happy, to avoid pain, and to love. We value our friends and family, beauty in nature, music that we hear for the first time, and the wonderment of what life must be like on the other side of the earth.
When the pandemic is finally over, we will have that second chance we have been yearning for to experience another culture. For some of us, it will be our first time travelling overseas, and for others, it will be a rekindling of the passion that makes us culture vultures, nomadic wonderers, and vagabonds on the path to seeing as much of the world as possible. There is so much beauty and culture in the world, and in my experience travelling throughout almost 50 countries, my honest opinion and recommendation is that Peru shouldn’t be just a choice, but a must when it comes to living and breathing another culture that is likely vastly different from your own.
I believe that travel has the power to inspire, heal, educate, and transform us as human beings, and for me, Peru is one of a very few select countries that receive my highest of recommendations for a plethora of reasons—but especially if post-pandemic, you want to experience just how magical this world can be through its people, art, nature, and culture. Do yourselves a favour and start planning that adventure you always said you would.
Valencia Travel Cusco has a huge range of tours that will inspire you to grind your way through the pandemic towards better and more exciting days.
Peru can be your second chance to experience not just another culture, but to remind yourself of how beautiful the world is, and how important it is to travel far and wide while you still have the chance to do so.
