Dear Friends,

The latest travel update relating to COVID-19 travel restrictions for Peru is now available. Before considering your need to travel, please understand the rules and restrictions in place that may impact your journey, and make sure to check back here at Passion Passport regularly for further updates. Please note: the information below is relayed from the Government of Peru—the official source of COVID-19 rules and policies.

As it currently stands, regions of Peru that are designated as having a High Alert level have the following conditions:

  • Curfews in place from 11pm until 4am the following day, 7 days per week
  • Commercial businesses must close 1 hour before curfew (i.e. no later than 10pm)
  • 40% venue capacity limits for casinos, gyms, theatres, cinemas, galleries, department stores, shopping centres, temples, and places of worship (such as churches and mosques)
  • 50% venue capacity limits for restaurants, sports club activities (such as indoor rock climbing, basketball, and futsal), general business and professionally-organised events
  • 60% venue capacity limits apply to supermarkets, warehouses, pharmacies, markets, basic supply stores, and financial institutions such as banks

The regions of Peru that must abide by the High Alert level are:

  • Amazonas
  • Ayacucho
  • Madre de Dios
  • Puno

Outdoor events, open-air sporting activities, zoos, botanical gardens, outdoor restaurants and outdoor theatre are all allowed, however, large public gatherings including carnivals and traditional festivals, are not allowed.

In public, the use of a double-mask is mandated in public places that tend to be crowded, such as supermarkets and pharmacies, and the Government of Peru recommends using a face shield.

Peruvians and resident foreigners who have been in South Africa must quarantine at home for a period of 14 days upon re-entry.

As per September 6th, fully vaccinated passengers are exempt from having a negative COVID-19 test result.

We look forward to welcoming you on tour soon, and wish you all the best in the meantime.

Your friends,

Valencia Travel Cusco.
