With so much to see and do, it’s no wonder travellers keep on returning to Peru. Valencia Travel Cusco is the tour operator of choice for those seeking authentic, local experiences with expert guides and the best itineraries on offer. If your plans coming out of lockdown are to see as much as possible to make up for lost time, then you can’t go past The Best of Peru 10-day adventure.
This is the perfect tour for those seeking a well-rounded experience that takes you to some of the most famous towns, ruins, and landmarks the country has to offer. You’ll get to experience Peru’s capital city of Lima, which will see you visit museums, the famous Puente de los Suspiros, and many more highlights including a delicious traditional Peruvian dinner and Pisco Sour tasting. Lima is a stunning city that promises to amaze and inspire you, just as it has for so many of Peru’s famous poets and singers. Next up is Cusco, one of the most fun towns in South America and the launching point for adventurers getting ready for their various escapades.
Cusco is a marvellous town that packs a punch for its size. From the nightlife and food scenery, to the artists nestled away in their studios selling gorgeous paintings, it is definitely one of the coolest and most memorable cities you will have the joy of visiting. While you’re here, we’ll take you on a full day tour of the area, including its majestic churches, Koricancha, and the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. After a long day of exploring, you can either choose to kick your feet up with your new travel buddies and have a few drinks, or join the optional folklore show and dinner for an incredible buffet and an introduction to Peru’s beautiful culture, music, and dancing.
No tour would be complete without a visit to Machu Picchu, which is probably the most eagerly-awaited experience of them all. You’ll spend the night in Aguas Calientes (my favourite town in all of South America by far), which is essentially base camp for your early morning ride up to the gates of Machu Picchu where you’ll watch the sunrise over the ancient Incan ruins. Nothing will replace this experience, no matter where in the world you go, so make sure to relax, take it all in, and for the love of God please don’t forget to charge your camera! If you’re game enough, you also have the option of climbing Huayna Picchu, which is the mountain right behind Machu Picchu that offers stunning vistas so good, so brilliant, that this is where National Geographic takes up their post for all those epic shots you have no doubt been Googling.
Next, you’ll take a bus tour to Puno, but not without stopping along the way to see some epic landmarks, including Andahuaylillas (The Sistine Chapel of South America), Raqchi (Wiracocha God Temple), La Raya (the highest point above sea level, at 14,222 feet), and Pukara (altiplano’s ancient, and most highly-regarded, ceremonial centre). After Puno, you’ll cap-off your 10-day adventure with a visit to the awe-inspiring Lake Titicaca, visiting the indigenous locals who live on the island of Uros, which is comprised of reeds that have been used to construct their homes and other floating islands.
If there’s one thing you can’t go past on your next South American adventure, it’s Peru, and if there’s one tour you must absolutely commit to, it’s this one. Trust me: you don’t want to miss out. Visit The Best of Peru tour for more information and better yet—book it now so you don’t miss out!
