The democratic republic of Peru, is located in the South American continent, it has an area of 1 250 000 squared kilometers, it is divided into three natural different regions that influence the weather that is varied from the freezing range of the Andes,to the tropical climate of the Amazon jungle and the arid weather of the Peruvian Coast. Perú has a great biodiversity that is the result of the presence of the Andes, a biodiversity that is reflected in the high number of exotic species of flora and fauna unique to Peru.
Thanks to the many visits of people to our country, tourism became the third economical commerce that produces a major amount of foreign currency in Peru, the first two are mining and fishing. Peru still depends on ancient economical activities such as cattling and agriculture especially in rural zones, far from the great cities but leaving less amount of foreign currency.
The History of Peru starts about 5000 years ago with many civilizations that built the first cities and metropolis such as the city of Caral, located north of the Capital of Peru Lima, built simultaneously along to the development of the ancient civilizations of Middle East.
History of Peru gets a total overturned with the appearance of different cultures previous to the Tawantinsuyo Empire, cultures from which the Incas received many techniques and traditions. The cultures to the North of Peru, the Mochicas, Chimu and Chinchas or the cultures in southern Peru such as the Tiawanacu or Wari. Cultures that left immortal legacies as the Nazca Lines and Sillustani, among others.
The ancestral culture of the Incas got started with a mythical legend, picked up by the Spaniard chronicles and local ones. The Incas expanded their territory up to the actual territories of the Republics of Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia. A territory that was unified by a great web of trials that joined all the towns governed by the denominated local appointed official. Machu Picchu, the biggest masterpiece of ancient Peru was built during the height of Incan culture, made by the workers of one of the most ambicious and greatest emperors of Peruvian History.
With the arrival of the Spaniards in the XVI Century, European traditions got mixed in with the local ones, a mixture of traditions that can be seen today. Spaniards dominated the Peruvian Territory until 1821 in which, the liberator Jose de San Martin declared the Independence of Peru.
Nowadays, the Peruvian Nation is one of the countries ,where tourism is lived the best way, through the special region of Cusco declared as Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO.
