OVERVIEW

Madre de Dios is the jungle region in the south eastern part of Peru’s Amazon Basin, bordering Brazil and Bolivia. In the west, The Manú National Park encompasses Andean highland cloud forest and lowland jungle. Celebrated for their biodiversity, the savannahs and old-growth rainforest of the Tambopata Reserve include The Corto Maltes Amazonia Lodge, boasting169 mammal species, 632 bird species and more than 1,000 butterfly species in its grounds. The numerous creeks, swamps and oxbow lakes complete the scenery making this a true jungle paradise.
