Trip Overview

The Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve is the second largest protected area in Peru. Covering 20,800 km2 (8,000 sq mi) in the Loreto Region of Peru, it protects a beautiful area of low hills and seasonally flooded forest in the Amazon rainforest. The reserve is home to more than 1,000 animal species and at least 965 native plant species, making it a true paradise for nature lovers.

When you take the Delfin I river cruise to Pacaya-Samiria, you’ll be traveling in style. With only four oversized luxury suites, each with its own private panoramic terrace, you can expect an unrivaled personalized service. We’ll cruise along the Amazon River, using the ship’s river skiffs to explore tributaries and go in search of wildlife. We’ll also visit indigenous communities that live off the abundant natural resources of the rainforest. And as we explore the Amazon, you’ll have the chance to trek in the jungle, kayak in creeks and lakes, fish for piranhas, and see the amazing range of animals and birds that live in this breathtaking part of the planet.
