Our two-day tour from Cusco to Machu Picchu by train is ideal for people who are short on time but still want to visit this world-famous attraction. We will first take the train to Aguas Calientes, a colorful town at the foot of Machu Picchu. We’ll head up to Machu Picchu, where you and your guide will have enough time to thoroughly explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

This tour runs from April through to November, avoiding the rainy season months from December to March. Some of our departures are small group service tours while others are private tours. 


Early morning, we’ll pick you up at 05h00. and then head to the train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo). The train leaves at approximately 07h50 although the exact schedule does change sometimes.     This morning is at leisure. We recommend you either pre-book an optional early morning visit to Machu Picchu (2nd bus and entry not included). Enjoy the sunrise over the ruins and watch the mist rise over this mountain top citadel at dawn or perhaps climb Huayna Picchu.

      The train departs from Ollantaytambo or Poroy station in Cusco (depending on the availability) and takes you through one of the most incredible train journeys in the world reaching the magnificent site of Machu Picchu!!

      We will pick you up at 8:00am (to be confirmed) and take you to the train station. The train leaves at 11:30 am (time may change depending on availability and changes to timetable). After a 3.5-hour journey of majestic views you arrive to Aguas Calientes (Hot Springs Town) where you will spend the night.       You will have breakfast and then your Guide will pick you up from your hotel (5:40am). You will take the bus up to majestic Machu Picchu to catch the sunrise and then begin your walking tour with your guide (approximately 2 hours) after this you can explore the mysterious city by yourselves.
