Our 2 day train tour to Machu Picchu is ideal for people who are short on time but still want to visit this world-famous attraction. We will first take the train to Aguas Calientes, a colorful town at the foot of Machu Picchu. We’ll head up to Machu Picchu, where you and your guide will have enough time to thoroughly explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
This train ride to Machu Picchu runs from April through to November, avoiding the rainy season months from December to March. Some of our departures are small group service tours while others are private tours.
Early morning, we’ll pick you up at 05h00. and then head to the train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo). The train leaves at approximately 07h50 although the exact schedule does change sometimes. The two-hour train from Cusco to Machu Picchu is a memorable experience in itself, as we pass through river canyons and rolling hills, then your guide will pick you up from the train station at around 09h25. This morning is at leisure. We recommend you either pre-book an optional early morning visit to Machu Picchu (2nd bus and entry not included). Enjoy the sunrise over the ruins and watch the mist rise over this mountain top citadel at dawn or perhaps climb Huayna Picchu.
