After breakfast, as the sunlight squeezes through the dense trees of the Amazon Rainforest and the jungle inhabitants awake from their slumber. we can take the option to join them in the early hours, with a buffet breakfast served from 05:30.

We will visit Lake Sandoval this morning, a glassy, Ox-Bow lake located inside the protected Tambopata National Reserve, reached via a sun-dappled rainforest trail. Aboard a dug-out wooden canoe, we will quietly paddle through a stream and glide onto Lake Sandoval, flanked by picture-perfect palms. This serene lake is home to many species of birds, as well as the endangered giant river otter, red howler monkeys, red-bellied macaws, anacondas, side-neck turtles, black caimans and other amazing amazoni creatures. We will then  return to the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica Lodge in time for lunch.

In the afternoon, we will explore the amazing Inkaterra Canopy Walkway. The Canopy Walkway takes us up a 29-meter-tall tower into the treetop realm. Stretching for more than a quarter of a mile, the walkway takes you through the canopy on a suspension bridge network linking eight observation platforms. From this awe-inspiring vantage point, we’ll look out for toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, monkeys, and the three-toed sloth.

Back at the lodge, you can opt to enjoy a daily nature presentation in the Eco Center or book yourself an indulgent spa treatment. Your a-la-carte dinner is served from 19:00. in the dining room.

Today we’ll head out to Gamitana Creek, located about 25 minutes by boat from the lodge. Here we can explore the rainforest for about 1.5 hours, heading along the banks of a winding, dark-water creek. Wildlife is abundant in these waters and along the banks, where piranhas, caiman, turtles, and birds all live.

Heading back downstream, we’ll visit the Gamitana Farm for a short guided tour, where you’ll see how the local farmers grow fruits and vegetables. We’ll then return to the lodge for lunch and afterwards set off on the Hacienda Concepcion excursion, during which we can see more than 200 different plant species and learn how they are used to make all kinds of things, including traditional jungle medicine.

Next, we can go on a 30-minute canoe trip to look for turtles, sungrebes, nightjars, and exotic herons.

In the evening, you can take part in the Rainforest by Night excursion through the Inkaterra Ecological Reserve. This two-hour trip takes you into the forest to experience the wonderful nocturnal world in the jungle and the amazing sounds that accompany it.

Today we’ll explore more of the Hacienda Concepcion Lodge area, which was built in an old cocoa and rubber plantation on the grounds of a place once known as Fundo Concepción. This was a medical center built by the Catholic mission in the 1950s, and until 1976 also served as a center of ecological research and training for the local community. Hacienda Concepción is an incredibly biodiverse location, with a wealth of tropical plants and wild animals. From here we can also visit the wreck of a ship called the Fitzcarrald.

After lunch at the lodge, we will head out on the Anaconda Walk that follows a 200-meter (656 feet) raised wooden platform over a flooded aguajales swamp. In this lush ecosystem, you may observe various species of amphibians, birds, mammals, abundant flora, and interesting trees.

We will then head back to the Reserva Amazonica for a delightful dinner and some time to relax.
