Nazca culture lived in the desert thanks to the metropolises built, furnished with subterranean water ways brought to the surface by aqueducts. Nazca culture took pottery to another level for they put in their ceramics their daily lives and mysteries that still cannot achieve to get decoded.

Historians and astronomers say that enigmatic lines from Nazca were designed by this culture to be able to read the universe and know exactly when the natural phenomena of "El niño" will occur. A phenomena that leaves the sea without fishes and that certain cultures depended on to survive.

The Chinchas culture wa one of the last ones in this region, Spaniard chronicles wrote that the Lord of Chincha one of the most loyal subdites to the incas, dominated the seas with ships that arrived very easily to 10000 ships ready to cross the seas.

In the colonial epoch these valleys were used as zones for agriculture for the production of rice and afterwards for cotton. Nowadays this region is the first one in the production of wines and piscos, maybe the most exquisite wines get found in this place, piscos are traditional in this place.
