The first stop on our Lima city tour is Huaca Pucllana, a huge archaeological site in Miraflores, one of Lima’s most popular districts. Huaca Pucllana was an important ceremonial and administrative center of the Lima culture, which developed along this part of the Peruvian coast between 200 AD and 700 AD. This sacred place was built from seven staggered platforms surrounded by a plaza and large walls. It’s a very impressive site, and certainly not what you expect to find i...

Our Cusco city tour begins in the morning, when we’ll first head to the wonderful Koricancha, next door to Santo Domingo Church. According to the chroniclers who wrote during the period directly after the Spanish Conquest, the Koricancha was the most sacred and most important temple in the Inca Empire. Just as anywhere in the world, there may be pickpockets in crowded places. We suggest being aware of your surroundings, and travelling in a group, where possible.

The extra night in Casa Andina Standard Miraflores (twin, double, single room) $ 85 per room per night

The best time to visit Peru is during the dry season, between May and October, which sees sunny days, bright blue skies in the Andes, and chilly nights. It is a wonderful time to be in Peru, especially if you plan to go on a trek, but being the peak season, early booking is crucial. Visitors will notice more rain between November and April, with the wettest months being January and February. Travel at this time does offer the advantage of fewer visitors, greener scenery, and some lower rates for flights and hotels. The Amazon also experiences more rain between November and March, but this should not deter you from visiting – the flora and fauna will still be abundant and there are always breaks in showers.

Yes, the Casa Andina Standard Cusco Plaza has a luggage room, at no additional cost.

Valencia Travel is a company with over 12 years experience in the travel industry and has a solid financial position. We have insurance with La Positiva, that protects us and our guests from any eventuality in Peru, covering our guests for more than 5 million US dollars.

The official currency in Peru is the Nuevo Sol (PEN). In large cities there is a good chance that you will find ATMs along the route, however, we suggest that you do not rely entirely on this solution, as it may not be enabled to work with your bank.

Only the necessary for the 2-day Machu Picchu by train, the rest of the luggage can be left at the hotel.
