The Irapay Amazon Lodge provides a wonderful location from which to explore the Amazon rainforest near Iquitos. Situated on the banks of the Rio Momon, the resort is strategically positioned between the indigenous Yaguas and Boras communities. It’s also close to a number of fantastic attractions, including the village of Padre Cocha, the wonderful Pilpintuwasi butterfly farm and animal sanctuary, the Amazon animal orphanage, and the Fundo Pedrito alligator farm. It’s also just a 45-minute boat ride from the city of Iquitos.
The Amazon Lodge has 50 guestrooms, a large swimming pool with a swim-up bar, multiple restaurants and bars, a gym and a spa, and various other facilities. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to explore the Amazon Rainforest while staying in extreme comfort with plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind.

Day 1:Arrival and Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm
Our Amazon adventure begins when we pick you up from the airport or your hotel in Iquitos. Then we’ll head to the port of Bellavista-Nany to board our river boat. Cruising along the Amazon River, we’ll soon arrive at a wonderful confluence where the Amazon, Itaya, Nanay, and Momón rivers meet. Along the way, we can see some grey and pink river dolphins, if we are lucky!
We’ll have lunch at the beautiful Maloca Restaurant, which has excellent views of the Momon River. After lunch, you’ll have time to settle in, explore the property, and take a dip in the wonderful pool.
Afterwards, we’ll visit Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm, where you can see thousands of colorful butterflies, some as large as your hand. Pilpintuwasi is also an animal rescue center, and you’ll get to meet some of the residents, including an array of cheeky monkeys.
On our return to the lodge, we will have time to appreciate our first Amazonian sunset! Then we’ll return to the Maloca Restaurant for dinner, after which you can relax at the lodge before you head back to your room for the night.

Day 2:Jungle Exploration and Botanical Gardens
On Day 2, we start the day with a delicious breakfast and leave for our first botanical walk through the Amazon Rainforest. We will observe medicinal plants, giant trees, and the small Irapay palm, after which the lodge is named. You'll also have the chance to enjoy swinging on jungle vines, just like to bring out your inner "Tarzan" during your Peru Jungle visit.
After our excursion, we will enjoy lunch in Maloca Restaurant before relaxing and enjoying the Irapay Lodge facilities. You may relax by the pool, explore the gardens, or simply rest in a hammock while listening to the sounds of the jungle. This is the perfect time to recharge and enjoy the tranquility of nature before you have dinner.

Day 3:Indigenous Community Visit
Day 3 begins with a delicious breakfast at the Lodge. We will then head out to an indigenous community where you can learn more about the tribal traditions and customs of the rainforest. This activity will allow you to immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Amazon. The local community members will share their ancient customs, traditions, and native language with you. You'll have the chance to join in their traditional dances and songs, offering a genuine glimpse into their cultural heritage. At the end of the visit, you'll be able to admire and purchase unique souvenirs made by the community's artisans, providing you with a special keepsake from this incredible visit.
We will then return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious lunch, showcasing the vibrant flavors of the rainforest. You will then have the afternoon free to enjoy the pool and other facilities at the resort, during the heat of the day.

Day 4:River Fishing and Nocturnal Jungle Excursion
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast,at the Lodge, which is the perfect start for the exciting adventure ahead. We will visit a Serpentarium, where you will have the chance to observe a huge variety of snakes, including impressive Boa Constrictors and Anacondas. Additionally, you'll encounter other remarkable creatures that call the Amazon Rainforest home, such as sloths, various species of monkeys, colorful Macaws, exotic toucans, and Amazon turtles. This visit offers a unique opportunity to connect closely with the rich biodiversity of The Amazon Basin on your Peru adventure tours.
We will head back to the lodge for lunch and to relax for the afternoon. Enjoy the comfortable facilities of Irapay and the tranquility of the surrounding jungle as you unwind and prepare for your final Amazonian sunset. A truly unparalleled experience!

Day 5:Amazon River Exploration
On your final day, we’ll take you on a boat excursion on the Amazon River, where we’ll search for and observe another icon of the Amazon: the pink river dolphin. Many legends surround these beautiful creatures, and seeing them up close is a wonderful experience.
Later, we’ll take you back to Iquitos, either to the airport or to your hotel. This is where your five-day jungle experience at Irapay Amazon Lodge comes to an end, and we’re sure you’ll have had a truly memorable time.
