The Maniti Eco Lodge is located about 43 miles (70 km) downriver from the city of Iquitos. Here, in the natural surroundings of the Amazon rainforest, you can spend time relaxing in your cozy private bungalow, built entirely from secondary growth rainforest materials. Don’t expect every modern amenity at the eco lodge – there’s no hot water and no air conditioning – but this all helps to preserve the authentic jungle experience.
During your stay at Maniti, you’ll be able to take part in various jungle activities, including jungle treks, boat excursions, night walks and fishing, all of which will be arranged for you.
Your rainforest adventure begins when we meet you in Iquitos. We’ll then head to the port town of Nanay, where the Nanay River meets the Amazon, to board a boat for a two-hour trip down the river. On the way, there’s a good chance we’ll see caimans, turtles, herons, pink river dolphins, snakes, and many other species of flora and fauna in the river or along the riverbank.
Our first stop will be the wonderful Monkey Island, a small island about 15 ...

After sunset we’ll paddle out in our canoes to spot and catch caiman, which you’ll have the opportunity to h...
In the morning we’ll visit a local village, where we’ll have a fascinating insight into life in the Amazon, learning how people live their lives in the jungle. Later we’ll visit lagoons and tributaries close to the Maniti Lodge. Here, you can choose from a number of activities, including jungle hiking, canoe rides, fishing, plant education, animal observation or just relaxing with a nice cool swim in one of the lagoons or in the Amazon River itself. After dark we&rsq...
Your final day begins with an early morning jungle hike where we’ll have the opportunity to see a vast number of monkeys, birds and other Amazonian creatures in their natural habitat.
